Welcome to Hooton Ladies Golf Club where a very warm and friendly welcome awaits all beginners and seasoned lady golfers who would like to play golf and enjoy a fun get-together at ‘the 19th’ afterwards.
Hooton Ladies Golf Club is a small, vibrant and very sociable club of lady golfers who play our club competitions every Sunday from March through to October and on a few Saturdays too. Our members range in age from 30-ish to 70-ish with single-figure handicaps through to 54. In a nutshell, you can be yourself no matter what stage of golf you are at and seamlessly fit in!
All prospective members are very welcome to meet up with us ‘Hootonites’ over a drink at ‘the 19th’ where we hope we will make you feel exceptionally welcome at our golf club. From there, we can help those ladies who are just starting out on their golf ‘adventure’ or invite those seasoned golfers to join us for a round so you can enjoy our lovely course with us. Rest assured, you’ll always find us on the patio after our Sunday-round sharing our love of golf, stories of our round and laughter over our pints and cuppa teas… come along and catch up with us anytime!

We play our golf at the 18 hole Ellesmere Port Golf Course located in the peaceful village of Childer Thornton in Cheshire, just 2 miles from Junction 5 on the M53. The parkland course is flat and set in a beautiful and tranquil wooded-setting with no two holes the same!
The Women’s Red Tees SLOPE RATING is 131 and the COURSE RATING is 72.3
Our Hooton Ladies Golf Club’s Annual Subscription is £65.00 payable on joining. The respective weekday or weekend Green Fee is payable at the PRO shop each time you play and a Competition Fee of £2.50 is payable to our golf club for our Sunday Competition (£1.00 for our Saturday Competition). All in all, it’s great value for money for an enjoyable and unpretentious golf experience with friends leaving you feeling good… even when you’ve had a bad round! From November through to February, we organise a few “Winter Socials” ranging from 10-pin to Crazy Golf and of course our AGM, Prize-Giving and Christmas Party Evening in December is not to be missed!
The ’19th’ is the perfect venue to enjoy a good vibe in the lounge or chill-out in the sunshine on the magnificent patio with your favourite beverage after a game of golf with a scenic view of the 18th green and beyond to the 1st tee. The beauty of the course and the relaxed atmosphere of the ’19th’ ensures our ‘Muni’ club is simply a great venue for all golfers and ‘locals’.
Ellesmere Port Golf Course is currently owned by Cheshire West and Chester Council with The Ian Woosnam Golf Courses and Academy operator looking after the Course and Clubhouse developments. The course is also ‘home’ to the Ellesmere Port Golf Club where men are always welcomed as members.
